MANCHESTER - Former England national team striker, Alan Shearer, stating that the injury suffered by Nemanja Vidic will harm competition Manchester United in the Premier League title this season.

Vidic should increase the operating table to restore his injury, and the absence of Serbian defender was also considered as the source of the Red Devils a 3-2 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Shearer considers the influence of Vidic's so important to United, even the failure of Alex Ferguson's side won the Premier League title was also considered because of injuries to Vidic for six months.

"These are early days in the title race, but Manchester United have got a big punch of their players to be absent," said Shearer, as reported by The Sun, Monday (01/10/2012).

"Before the season started I do not think they (United) are strong enough to win the title, even with all their new players," said the former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers.

Shearer said the absence of Vidic put United difficulty when faced with tough opponents. Moreover, the Red Devils had to visit the headquarters of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in late October, for Shearer, the Blues were even more likely to be a champion.

"With the loss of Nemanja Vidic for two months, I am more convinced that the Premier League trophy will leave them or to Stamford Bridge," he explained.

"Actually, last season's losing Vidic may also make them lose the title. To me, they now seem much more prone to lose the title again," he concluded.
